BRAWLSCORE COACHING GUIDE: HOW TO MAXIMIZE YOUR RATING

COACHING 5 min read Updated: October 2026
A rating only helps if it changes what you do in your next match. This guide shows how to read your BrawlScore report and turn it into a short routine that actually moves your results.

BrawlScore reads your recent battles from the official Brawl Stars API and summarizes how you are playing right now in one rating, built from three pillars: Performance, Draft and Synergy, and Consistency. The rating is deliberately not a trophy count: trophies measure how much you have pushed, while BrawlScore measures how well you are playing this week. The full method is explained in How BrawlScore works; this guide is about using it.

1. Read the report in the right order

Most players look at the big number first and stop there. The number is a summary; the value is underneath it. Read the report in this order:

  1. The improvement plan. It lists concrete actions ranked by impact, drawn from your own matches. The first item is the single change most likely to move your results.
  2. Your weakest pillar. If one pillar sits clearly below the other two, that is where your games are being lost, even if your overall rating looks fine.
  3. Brawlers and modes. Check which brawlers win you games and which modes cost you trophies. This tells you where to play and where to practise.
  4. The rating itself. Use it last, as a trend line from session to session rather than a grade for a single day.

2. Fixing Performance: stop losing trades

Performance looks at how you play the brawler in front of you: damage traded, how often you survive compared with how often you eliminate, and objective work such as carrying gems or dealing safe damage in Heist. The most common leak is not low damage, it is dying first.

  • Play one step further back than feels natural. Most early deaths come from walking into range to finish a target. Let the enemy come to you and trade from cover.
  • Track your Super before you engage. Fights started without your Super or your gadget ready are the fights you lose. Wait for the charge, then commit.
  • Respect the objective. In Gem Grab, the carrier should be the safest player, not the most aggressive. In Heist, safe damage counts even when nobody dies.
Drill: for one session, count your deaths in the first 30 seconds of each match. Getting that number to zero usually lifts Performance faster than any mechanical practice.

3. Fixing Draft and Synergy: win before the first shot

This pillar checks whether your picks make sense: brawlers that counter the enemy and fit your teammates, on maps where they are strong. A low score here means you are fighting uphill from the loading screen.

  • Pick from the live tier list for the mode you are queueing, not from habit. The tier list has a filter for each mode and lists the five best brawlers in every mode.
  • Cover three jobs: lane control, pressure and damage or support. Two assassins with no frontline or two marksmen with no protection is the pattern BrawlScore flags most.
  • Check the counter before you lock in. Every brawler page shows who beats that brawler and who it beats, with real head-to-head win rates. The drafting guide explains the counter loops behind them.

4. Fixing Consistency: cut your bad sessions

Consistency measures how stable your results are under pressure: win streaks, avoiding tilt spirals, and keeping your play steady instead of swinging between great and terrible sessions. Climbing is mostly about reducing bad games, not maximizing good ones.

  • Stop after two losses in a row. Tilt compounds. Two straight losses is the signal to take a break, not to queue faster.
  • Keep a small pool. Two or three brawlers per mode that you know deeply produce steadier results than rotating through the whole roster.
  • Play your best mode when you are tired. Your report shows which mode you win most in. Late sessions belong there.

5. A weekly routine that works

WhenWhat to do
Before a sessionOpen your report and read only the first one or two action items. Pick the mode and the brawler you will practise.
During the sessionFocus on that one change. Ignore everything else, including your trophy count.
After the sessionCheck the report again. A fixed leak usually shows up in the pillar it belongs to before it shows in your rating.
Once a weekSwitch to the Career view to see whether the trend is going up across sessions, not just inside one.

6. Recent vs Career

The Recent view covers your latest battles and reacts quickly, which makes it the right place to check whether a change is working. The Career view follows the same tag over time and smooths out good and bad days, so it shows whether you are really improving. Use Recent to practise and Career to judge.

7. Common mistakes

  • Chasing the number. Playing only safe modes to protect your rating hides the leaks the report is meant to find.
  • Fixing everything at once. Five changes in one session means none of them sticks. One or two at a time.
  • Judging one session. A single bad day is noise. Look at the trend over a week.
