Supercell's August 2026 release notes, published on September 1, shipped the Brawler Blast update: two new brawlers, a rework for Chuck and a large balance pass. Two weeks later the September 16 maintenance followed up with a second round of changes. This article covers both, using the official patch notes and BrawlUp's own battle data.
New brawlers: Cosmo and Vince
Cosmo is a Mythic controller with long range and a slow reload. He throws three planets that orbit in a circle and grow in size and damage the farther they travel, so he hits hardest at the edge of his range. His Super attaches a magnet to an enemy for six seconds, and shots from Cosmo and his teammates home in on that target.
He has taken over the meta: Cosmo is currently first on the BrawlUp tier list, with his strongest results in Brawl Ball and Knockout. His page has the best build, his counters and his best teammates.
Vince, a damage dealer, was introduced in the same release notes. He is still rare in ranked and high-trophy battles, so BrawlUp will publish his page as soon as there are enough games to measure him reliably.
The Brawler Blast balance pass (September 1)
The update buffed 19 brawlers and nerfed 11, and it reworked Chuck from the ground up. The biggest buff packages went to Tara and Melodie, with four changes each. On the nerf side, the release-season pair Nori and Wendy were hit first, and the largest packages went to Wendy and Max (four changes each) and Rico (three).
The September 16 maintenance
The follow-up went the other way on the Buffie brawlers. Shade, Gus, El Primo and Amber had just received Buffies and every one of them was trimmed, while the adjustments to Nori and Wendy continued.
- Nori and Wendy: nerfed in both passes. Wendy got more health but lost most of her shielding, so she trades better alone and supports less.
- Shade: a small buff in the Brawler Blast update, then four nerfs on September 16. Net result: weaker than before the update.
- New Buffies: Gus, El Primo and Amber all lost value. Poco is the exception and was buffed again.
- Chuck: reworked on September 1 and buffed again two weeks later through Pit Stop, a sign the rework landed under the bar.
- Brock and Colette: hit in both passes through their Hypercharge Buffies and Super charge.
What it means for your draft
Cosmo is the brawler to plan around: ban him, pick him, or bring someone who can get close to him, since his planets deal little damage near him. The double nerfs to Nori and Wendy and the Buffie trims mean several picks from the start of the season are weaker than their reputation, so check the live numbers before you lock them in. Every change is listed with its exact values on the balance changes page, and the tier list shows where each brawler stands today.
