FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Chuck is currently A-tier in Knockout with a score of 82/100. As an Assassin, Chuck bursts down isolated targets and disrupts backline positions, making it a reliable pick when the meta favors Knockout.
Run Pit Stop as the default Star Power for Chuck — it works in most situations. Switch to Tickets Please! on maps that punish your main weakness. For Gadgets, Rerouting is the standard active pick; Ghost Train is situationally better on specific map types. Speed and Shield Gears are the standard choice.
Chuck struggles against Charlie and Frank, who can out-trade Chuck at the ranges or map types where Chuck is most exposed. On the flip side, Chuck consistently beats Poco and Gene.
Chuck performs best in Knockout (A-tier, 82/100). The Assassin kit — bursts down isolated targets and disrupts backline positions — is directly rewarded in Knockout, which is why Chuck climbs higher here than in other modes. See the mode ratings section for a full breakdown.
Chuck pairs best with Gene and Emz. Since Chuck bursts down isolated targets and disrupts backline positions, teammates that cover the opposite role — whether that is frontline presence, healing, or ranged poke — create the most complete comp.
To play Chuck well, focus on Knockout where the mode rating is highest, and lean into being a Assassin that bursts down isolated targets and disrupts backline positions. Run Pit Stop as the core build, track Charlie and Frank on the enemy team, and pair with Gene and Emz when possible.

HOW TO PLAY CHUCK

Chuck places electric posts across the map and dashes between them at incredible speed, dealing contact damage along the route and resetting his position to the last post placed. His post network can be built over time to create teleportation paths that cross large portions of the map. He is one of the most mobile brawlers in the game and can exert pressure on multiple objectives simultaneously in Gem Grab.

Build Chuck's post network during the early phase of a match when it is safer to roam, so the fully developed teleport grid is ready to use offensively once the fight escalates. Place posts near high-value positions like behind the enemy gem mine or adjacent to the opponent's base rather than in neutral territory.

PRO TIPS

Assassin Game Plan
Wait for a 1v1 opening before committing. Your burst is wasted against grouped enemies. Run Pit Stop in most situations, switching to Tickets Please! on maps where enemies can close distance. Use Gadgets as openers rather than saving them — an early Gadget creates the isolation your kit needs.
PRIORITY
Draft Around Counters
Watch for Charlie or Frank. Both Rerouting and Ghost Train are in your kit — learn which one punishes your counters versus which gives you an escape window. Use your Gadget early rather than saving it for a desperate moment.
MATCHUP
Best Team Shape
Pair Chuck with Gene or Emz when possible. Build toward Full Steam Ahead! in safe positions — it swings fights instantly, so activate it when your team has the edge, not when you are already behind.
