FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Juju is currently A-tier in Gem Grab with a score of 84/100. As a Controller, Juju denies zones and controls objective access with area abilities, making it a reliable pick when the meta favors Gem Grab.
Run Guarded Gris-Gris as the default Star Power for Juju — it works in most situations. Switch to Numbing Needles on maps that punish your main weakness. For Gadgets, Voodoo Chile is the standard active pick; Elementalist is situationally better on specific map types. Speed and Shield Gears are the standard choice.
Juju struggles against Edgar and Mortis, who can out-trade Juju at the ranges or map types where Juju is most exposed. On the flip side, Juju consistently beats Bull and Rosa.
Juju performs best in Gem Grab (A-tier, 84/100). The Controller kit — denies zones and controls objective access with area abilities — is directly rewarded in Gem Grab, which is why Juju climbs higher here than in other modes. See the mode ratings section for a full breakdown.
Juju pairs best with Charlie and Emz. Since Juju denies zones and controls objective access with area abilities, teammates that cover the opposite role — whether that is frontline presence, healing, or ranged poke — create the most complete comp.
To play Juju well, focus on Gem Grab where the mode rating is highest, and lean into being a Controller that denies zones and controls objective access with area abilities. Run Guarded Gris-Gris as the core build, track Edgar and Mortis on the enemy team, and pair with Charlie and Emz when possible.

HOW TO PLAY JUJU

Juju fires drifting projectiles that cause enemies to become possessed and temporarily fight for her side, turning opponents into temporary allies for several seconds. Her unique possession mechanic can turn a 3v3 into a 4v2 disadvantage for the enemy team, providing one of the most impactful single-ability swings in the game. She requires careful aim since missed possession shots deal no useful damage.

Prioritize possessing the enemy team's highest DPS or most threatening brawler, as they continue dealing full damage while possessed and will attack their former teammates. Juju's possession lasts longest on slow enemies who cannot break line of sight, so target tanky brawlers over fast assassins.

PRO TIPS

Controller Game Plan
Build your Super from safe positions and deploy it on the objective approach route, not reactively. Take Guarded Gris-Gris in most situations, switching to Numbing Needles on maps where enemies can close distance. A Super that wins map control is worth more than one used defensively.
PRIORITY
Draft Around Counters
Watch for Edgar or Mortis. Both Voodoo Chile and Elementalist are in your kit — learn which one punishes your counters versus which gives you an escape window. Use your Gadget early rather than saving it for a desperate moment.
MATCHUP
Best Team Shape
Pair Juju with Charlie or Emz when possible. Build toward Bokor in safe positions — it swings fights instantly, so activate it when your team has the edge, not when you are already behind.
