FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Pierce is currently A-tier in Bounty with a score of 84/100. As a Marksman, Pierce punishes overextended and mispositioned enemies from long range, making it a reliable pick when the meta favors Bounty.
Run Mission: Swimpossible as the default Star Power for Pierce — it works in most situations. Switch to Slip 'n Snipe on maps that punish your main weakness. For Gadgets, Bottomless Mags is the standard active pick; You Only Brawl Twice is situationally better on specific map types. Speed and Shield Gears are the standard choice.
Pierce struggles against Bull and Jacky, who can out-trade Pierce at the ranges or map types where Pierce is most exposed. On the flip side, Pierce consistently beats Bull and El Primo.
Pierce performs best in Bounty (A-tier, 84/100). The Marksman kit — punishes overextended and mispositioned enemies from long range — is directly rewarded in Bounty, which is why Pierce climbs higher here than in other modes. See the mode ratings section for a full breakdown.
Pierce pairs best with Gale and Emz. Since Pierce punishes overextended and mispositioned enemies from long range, teammates that cover the opposite role — whether that is frontline presence, healing, or ranged poke — create the most complete comp.
To play Pierce well, focus on Bounty where the mode rating is highest, and lean into being a Marksman that punishes overextended and mispositioned enemies from long range. Run Mission: Swimpossible as the core build, track Bull and Jacky on the enemy team, and pair with Gale and Emz when possible.

HOW TO PLAY PIERCE

Pierce fires penetrating laser shots that pass through the first brawler hit and continue to the next, making clustered enemies take full damage from a single attack. His high-penetration mechanic rewards positioning against grouped teams and punishes spread formations. He is effective in Bounty and Knockout where enemies frequently cluster behind shared cover.

Pierce's laser only penetrates through one target by default, so aim for the brawler closest to a second enemy standing behind them rather than the most isolated opponent. Learning the brawler arrangement patterns on each map helps predict when two enemies will align for double-hit shots.

PRO TIPS

Marksman Game Plan
Find the angle with the longest sightline and hold it. If a fight is forced close range, disengage rather than dueling. Take Mission: Swimpossible in most situations, switching to Slip 'n Snipe on maps where enemies can close distance. Save Gadgets to escape pressured flanks.
PRIORITY
Draft Around Counters
Watch for Bull or Jacky. Both Bottomless Mags and You Only Brawl Twice are in your kit — learn which one punishes your counters versus which gives you an escape window. Use your Gadget early rather than saving it for a desperate moment.
MATCHUP
Best Team Shape
Pair Pierce with Gale or Emz when possible. Build toward Second Wave in safe positions — it swings fights instantly, so activate it when your team has the edge, not when you are already behind.
