FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Lumi is currently A-tier in Brawl Ball with a score of 78/100. As a Damage Dealer, Lumi sustains high damage at mid range and wins straight-up duels, making it a reliable pick when the meta favors Brawl Ball.
Run 42% Burnt as the default Star Power for Lumi — it works in most situations. Switch to Half-Time on maps that punish your main weakness. For Gadgets, Hit the Lights is the standard active pick; Grim and Frostbitten is situationally better on specific map types. Speed and Shield Gears are the standard choice.
Lumi struggles against Piper and Nani, who can out-trade Lumi at the ranges or map types where Lumi is most exposed. On the flip side, Lumi consistently beats Bull and Rosa.
Lumi performs best in Brawl Ball (A-tier, 78/100). The Damage Dealer kit — sustains high damage at mid range and wins straight-up duels — is directly rewarded in Brawl Ball, which is why Lumi climbs higher here than in other modes. See the mode ratings section for a full breakdown.
Lumi pairs best with Gene and Poco. Since Lumi sustains high damage at mid range and wins straight-up duels, teammates that cover the opposite role — whether that is frontline presence, healing, or ranged poke — create the most complete comp.
To play Lumi well, focus on Brawl Ball where the mode rating is highest, and lean into being a Damage Dealer that sustains high damage at mid range and wins straight-up duels. Run 42% Burnt as the core build, track Piper and Nani on the enemy team, and pair with Gene and Poco when possible.

HOW TO PLAY LUMI

Lumi is a marksman who fires orb projectiles that orbit and track nearby enemies when they pass close enough, providing a persistent homing element to her attacks. Her Super charges multiple tracking orbs simultaneously that all seek out the nearest target, dealing significant combined damage. She is effective against slow brawlers who cannot outrun the tracking projectile component.

Lumi's orbs track nearby enemies rather than the aimed target, so fire them near grouped enemies to let the tracking find targets automatically. Her Super charges all orbs simultaneously for a multi-hit burst, so use it at mid-range where all orbs can acquire targets before losing track.

PRO TIPS

Damage Dealer Game Plan
Hold mid range and maintain spacing. Advance during the enemy's reload, retreat during your own. Take 42% Burnt in most situations, switching to Half-Time on maps where enemies can close distance. Force trades only when you are at full health.
PRIORITY
Draft Around Counters
Watch for Piper or Nani. Both Hit the Lights and Grim and Frostbitten are in your kit — learn which one punishes your counters versus which gives you an escape window. Use your Gadget early rather than saving it for a desperate moment.
MATCHUP
Best Team Shape
Pair Lumi with Gene or Poco when possible. Build toward Drum Solo in safe positions — it swings fights instantly, so activate it when your team has the edge, not when you are already behind.
